"natural"

so i have realized that the "natural" label can be such a tease! I have to admit, i have fallen into this trap several times, and am just now finally realizing that i need to look beyond the title and into the ingredients. i picked up a sunscreen bottle in the baby isle yesterday with the "natural" title, only to learn (through my new found habit of reading the ingredients list) that it had tons of parabens! ok, now come on! soooo much research has proven that parabens are very harmful causing all sorts of cancers, whats natural about that! sorry, i'm a bit bitter about having been tricked, and now feel as though i have to over cautious! exahusting, but somewhat rewarding.

Back Again!

finally back from the adventures of having a baby, buying a home, and moving... all in 6 weeks! what was i thinking! actually overall, looking back, we've come a long way in the last month, and i'm very proud of my family and where we are. I feel lucky to have two beautiful daughters, a home, and a wonderful husband. 

now for my cloth diaper update:

I am officially using cloth diapers full time, or as much as possible considering I don't have the cash to set up a full stash right now. I have 5 diapers I use, and I am washing pretty much every day. Im trying to gain more as we can afford to, but I am proud to say that I have not bough any sposies since Marley has been born, but have just used the ones given to us as gifts!

overall cds are amazing! no leaks, super easy to wash and care for. and despite my suspicions, no problem for out and about. also, super cute! 

I love the way she looks in them, and I can just tell she's happier :)

more to come later, right now I have a 4-year old begging for Word World and Marley crying... yea motherhood!

day 2!

i will come up with a better title next time, i swear! so now that ava is off to preschool i have a couple mins to sit down and type my thoughts. today is day two of my investigation of cloth diapers. I am officially hooked and determined to try. i am inspired by the "green mamas" out there and feel as though i too need to do my part. my epiphany came last saturday as i frantically ran errands is an attempt to ready myself for baby #2, of which i had practically nothing for. sifting through the massive amounts of baby necessities i found myself reading all the labels in search of chemical free and "safe" products. I'm thankful that this time around they are much more abundant (with ava i had to hunt for organic anything!) this made me realize that my resistance to cloth diapers was pretty pathetic, and since then I have made the leap. so here i go. i'll be gathering info from here on out!

The Beginning

today is the start of my blogging adventures! although i'm not sure there is one particular reason for this crusade, i think i just need an outlet to log my adventures attempting to find my place in as a mom. I feel the need to figure out how i can be impactful, and lead an interesting life while staying home and caring for my kids. this will chronicle my attempt. wish me luck!
